Uncommon Heads

Around 15-20% of the population are neurodivergent. This could equate to around 10,000 headteachers. They are doing amazing things, bringing particular strengths and insights to school leadership. But the challenges of headship can also weigh more heavily for neurodivergent leaders.

We need the system to have a better understanding of the brilliance brought by headteachers who are neurodivergent, and of how to enable them to consistently bring this brilliance.

As individuals, we also benefit from sharing mutual support with others who have similar experiences.

That's why I'm convening a group of Founder Members to help launch Uncommon Heads: a network of current, former, and aspiring headteachers who are neurodivergent.

Through the network we'll share our experiences, challenges, and successes, and realise we're not alone. We'll also gain insights into how our brain differences and our work impact each other, and how to make sure we can always be at our best.

Please get in touch to join the initial group, find out more, or stay informed. Drop me an email at simon@simonjebreel.com, or fill in the form below.
